Over the summer we opened the doors of our warehouse to the public for the very first time to a small number of Penderyn Club members for an afternoon built around the casks themselves.
The tasting gave Club members access to single cask samples that exist nowhere else with liquid drawn straight from the barrel, poured before it has ever seen a bottle. Between pours, Master Blender Aista Phillips talked through the casks on hand: what shapes a spirit over years of quiet maturation, and how she decides which casks are ready to become something worth releasing, and which need more time.
It's the kind of access that doesn't extend beyond the Club's membership. No retail shelf, no visitor centre tasting menu, just casks, the person who blends them, and the people who've chosen to be part of Penderyn's inner circle. For a distillery built on the idea that provenance and craft should be seen up close, not just described, it's a natural next step: fewer people in the room, more of the process on show.
It won't be a one-off. We have plans to open the warehouse to Club members again, with future sessions offering the same kind of unreleased access. Different casks, same principle.
Membership to the Penderyn Club is available to purchase online, with early access to releases like this among its benefits.
